Dear Jay and John,

  a collegue of mine is actually having a similar problem :

  In her case the reason is that she bought a videomach license, but the
version number is different (3.0) and so are the directory names and the
executable name (I did not succeed in renaming the files and getting
videomach starting anyhow).

  Is there a way to tell vmd that you are using a different version? And could
this be Jay's problem as well?
