Hi,
  This sounds like some kind of video driver issue on the Windows
machine. What video chipset and driver are you using on the
Windows computer? What startup messages does VMD pring in the
text console when you first run it? There are a number of OpenGL
messages which should be helpful for solving cases like this one.
