After an OS reinstall, I am not able to render movies with VMD, getting an
error that VMD could not locate ppmtompeg. ppmtompeg is not in
/opt/local/bin where I expected it. So I tried to reinstall fink and
netpbm as described in http://www.ks.uiuc.edu/Research/vmd/plugins/vmdmovie/.
But I get the error

bash-3.2$ fink install netpbm

I am using VMD 1.9.1 on OS X 10.8.5. Fink itself seems to be working
because the self update didn't return any errors:

/usr/bin/rsync -az -q rsync://
distfiles.master.finkmirrors.net/finkinfo//TIMESTAMP /sw/fink/TIMESTAMP.tmp
I will now run the rsync command to retrieve the latest package
descriptions.
/usr/bin/rsync -rtz --delete-after --delete -q --include='10.7/'
--include='10.7/stable/' --include='10.7/stable/main/'
--include='10.7/stable/main/finkinfo/'
--include='10.7/stable/main/finkinfo/*/'
--include='10.7/stable/main/finkinfo/*'
--include='10.7/stable/main/finkinfo/**/*' --include='VERSION'
--include='DISTRIBUTION' --include='README' --exclude='**' 'rsync://
distfiles.master.finkmirrors.net/finkinfo' '/sw/fink/'

The core packages have been updated. You should now update the other
packages using
commands like 'fink update-all'.

Does anyone know what I might have done wrong, or if there is a better way
to get VMD set up to render movies on OS X? Thank you!
