I just tried VMD 1.8.3 on my new workstation (linux suse 10.0), but setting rendermode to
GLSL produces a really funny result for CPK representation: phsychedelic lighting, no
spheres and normals reversed for cylinders.
I suspect that everything starts from the following startup warnings:

Info) Multithreading available, 4 CPUs detected.
Info) OpenGL renderer: GeForce 6800 GS/PCI/SSE2
Info) Features: STENCIL MSAA(4) RN MDE CVA NPOT PP PS GLSL(OVF)

My fault or VMD fault? I tried also 1.8.4b11 but same error.

Thanks for the help!
