How do I display a hexagonal periodic system in VMD?

I now how to do it for rectangular system, but do not know how to
extend it for hexagonal system?

for rectangular you'd do the following:

molinfo top set a $xdim
molinfo top set b $ydim

then you draw it through graphics --> representations --> periodic
and check +x -x +y -y
