Can someone tell me what is necessary to compile VMD on Redhat Linux?

It appears there are some dependencies that are necessary, but some
modifications are still required for the Makefile or header file(s).

Are there any cookbook steps to this? Or something like a SPEC file for
an RPM?
I'm using RedHat Enterprise Linux...
