Hi,
  You've almost got it, but you need to add a "molecule name" line
after the 2:
  http://www.ks.uiuc.edu/Research/vmd/plugins/molfile/xyzplugin.html

So your file should look more like:

2
mymolecule
ar1 x y z ....
ar2 x y z .....
2
mymolecule
ar1 x y z ....
ar2 x y z .....
