just to close this out and put the solution in the archives, I updated my
GPU to a Quadro M4000 since it is supported in the newer drivers and my
previous FX 5800 was not. This has fixed the problem, and stereo in VMD
with the Nvidia 3DVision shutter glasses works fine with Windows 10.
