"Load dri" missing in the Module section and then using the "nv"
driver don't add too well. I think that you used to use the "nvidia"
driver that indeed doesn't need the "dri" module to be loaded and that
somehow the "nv" driver has replaced the "nvidia" one. This would
explain why you see the big performance drop, the "nv" driver having
no hardware accelerated OpenGL support.

If this is the case, simply changing the driver line to read:

        Driver "nvidia"

will restore the initial performance.
