Hi,

You should create a .tkconrc file. Place this file where $HOME points to.

Inside this file put

set ::tkcon::COLOR(bg) your_color_choice

This file will now be loaded everytime TKconsole is intialized.
load VMD. Open TKconsole and it should have what ever color you set at
your_color_choice.
For changing colors of text etc refer to ::
