Hi,
  There isn't an ETA for the next release yet, but my goal is that the next
release will have a much shorter development cycle than the last one, and
it will contain the most current versions of most of the libraries that
VMD is linked against, including Tcl/Tk, Python, and so on. What I expect is
that I will begin making alpha releases of VMD 1.9.3 that start incorporating
the new library versions one or two at a time, and that Tcl/Tk 8.6.x will
be one of the earliest ones I work on, depending on how it goes on MacOS X
and Windows (Linux has been working for over a year already).
