Dear Anna,
  There's no built-in feature for drawing periodic boxes yet, though
this is something we plan to add to future versions of VMD. For the
time being, you can implement your own using the VMD "draw" commands
if you wish. I'll let VMD-L know when we have some scripts or built-in
feature(s) for doing this automatically.
