Hi Sangita,

If you take a look at the VMD manual, you'll see that you can run VMD in text mode at the command line (rather than launching the GUI), by issuing:
vmd -dispdev text

Also take a look at the '-e' and '-args' flags for passing in tcl scripts and arguments.
