hi vmders,
   I was trying to run my own version of vmd on freebsd 4.8 several months
ago, but being held up by chores, I just picked it up and try to do from
scratch. here is what i found:
   compile went smooth after i edit Makefile to fit the system, but it
crash when i execute it, by gdb, it said:

in configure file, it said vmd support freebsd 5.x, does this matter?
