VMD 1.8.7 was working beautifully in ubuntu linux 10.04 (the
gnome-based version).
I decided to upgrade to 10.10.

Alas, now the VMD menus are unresponsive (you can click on them, but
the pull-down list never appears).
I tried re-downloading the VMD binary (64-bit x86_64), and reinstalled
it without any error messages, but the menu problem persists.

Is this just me? Has anybody else had any luck under ubuntu 10.10?
