i have never seen this before.

if i would know what is messed up, i would have answered.
sadly, i have no psychic talents and my crystal ball is still in repair.

there are a bunch of things that can be done to debug these
kind of things. i would start by tracking traffic with tcpdump and
see what happens and where it goes. using strace or ltrace on
the various involved executable to narrow down the cause.
