  You'll need to check with Charles Schwieters, but my guess on this is
that the problem you're having is caused by the older version of Tcl/Tk
that VMD-XPLOR is compiled against. The current builds of the standard
VMD distribution use a much newer Tcl/Tk distribution as we ran into trouble
with older revs of Tcl/Tk conflicting with the use of the SCIM input manager
used by international researchers with alternative character sets and
keyboard/input layouts. I'd suggest contacting the VMD-XPLOR guys via
the email link on the bottom of their docs page:
