VMD directly does not support transparent backgrounds,
but you can do so easily, by mimicking the "green screen",
or "blue screen" technique used in movies.
i.e., you change the background color to a very unusual
color (e.g. bright green, blue, or yellow) and then use
a regular image processing program to turn every pixel
with that color into transparent.
