Hi Yannick,
  In the next couple of days, I will be releasing VMD 1.8.5, and I will
be making multiple versions available fo MacOS X. One of them is a 10.4
build that is linked against Apple's Tcl/Tk, and Python frameworks, which
should work with IED. I've found that Apple's Tk isn't quite as stable
as the version we've been using until now, so I will also be providing a
build similar to our old ones, which uses or own Tcl/Tk, and doesn't have
Python enabled, but which is a bit more stable as far as the behavior of
Tk (and thus the various graphical plugins) goes.
