Dear list-readers,

I just upgraded to VMD 1.8.3 (from 1.8.2) on my Linux machine. I ran:
'configure LINUX' followed by 'make install'. The installation seems to work smoothly but when I start VMD the console window starts and shuts down a millisecond later.
Any suggestions on what I've done wrong are welcome.
Version 1.8.2 worked without these problems.
