Hi,
  You're not seeing it because it's failing to load due to shared
library dependencies on your system. This plugin is developed by a
group at INRIA and has a less open license, so the source code isn't
included in the VMD plugin tree currently. I will see about recompiling
the intersurf source on a more recent linux distribution and if that
works out, I'll update the builds. We have the same problem with the
Windows version, in that it was linked against an archaic Cygwin version,
and that has created trouble with some people's installations if they
have an incompatible Cygwin library, it fails during startup. You can
see that this is lots of fun in general. It would have been much easier
if the source code could be put into the main CVS and built like
everything else, but alas that's not the case last I heard. I'll let
you know when I have a chance to look at this.
