Hi,
  This is caused by bugs in either your X server or the OpenGL drivers.
To correct it, you'll have to try updating X or the OpenGL drivers to
different versions that don't exhibit the problem. Local X display and
remote display exercise slightly different code paths in the windowing
system server and related drivers, and so this is why you're still able
to run VMD locally without trouble, but encounter problems when displaying
remotely.
