Dear All:

I was having problem to compile VMD 1.8.6 on a linux machine. Using
the following configure line :

./configure LINUXAMD64 OPENGL FLTK TK SILENT TCL PTHREADS

I was able to get a binary. However, the main menu is missing here. I
saw from the list that this could be cause by missing FLTK library. ( http://www.ks.uiuc.edu/Research/vmd/mailing_list/vmd-l/8023.html
  ). But I have no idea how to fix this. (And I did include FLTK for
configure). Also, the officially distributed 1.8.6 binary would give
the same problem.

Any suggestion is appreciated .
