Hi Stephane,
The "Spring" is a special measure mode used in conjunction
with the interactive molecular dynamics code in VMD. It is created
when a user uses the "SpringTool" in the tracker/tools menu of VMD 1.8.
I'm CCing your note to Paul Grayson, as he can probably give a better
description of it, since he wrote it specifically for some work he was
doing.
