Dear all,

Just to let you know that VMD stereo works with the following setup

AMD processor
1gb ram
radeon 8500
StereoGraphics emitter E-2 and stereoenabler (for synch signal from
graphics card to
emitter (neither very expensive) and crystaleyes lcd shutter glasses
Red Hat 7.3
Xig Xserver (with blue line open GL option switched on, free demo
available xig.com)
VMD version 1.7.1 DRI openGL (vmd-1.7.1.bin.LINUX.opengl.tar.gz)

this setup also works for stereo viewing in pymol, and Bodil, but
haven't got SwisssPDBviewer working yet....turning stereo on crashed
it.

anyway.....here's to cheap desktop stereo viewing for all, this whole
system cost less than €4k or there abouts
