Abstract

The elementary timescale of photosynthetic light harvesting ranges from 50-200 fs. Dynamics of these timesales has been recorded directly using the photon echo peak shift method. This method also reveals the strength of the electron-phonon coupling and the degree of energetic disorder. In addition, the role of caroteroids in light harvesting will be discussed and ab-initio electronic structure calculations will be described.

Tea and coffee will be served in R3151 Beckman Institute at 2:15pm.
