Prof. Laxmikant Kale Prof. Laxmikant Kale, IEEE Fellow

The Theoretical and Computational Biophysics Group (TCBG), NIH Resource for Macromolecular Modeling and Bioinformatics, is pleased to announce that TCBG faculty member Professor Laxmikant V. Kale has been elevated to a Fellow of IEEE. As the notification letter to Prof. Kale states, the honor comes in recognition of Kale's work on parallel programming:

"Recognizing the achievements of its members is an important part of the mission of the IEEE. Each year, following a rigorous evaluation procedure, the IEEE Fellow Committee recommends a select group of recipients for one of the Association's most prestigious honors, elevation to IEEE Fellow. It is my great pleasure to inform you that the IEEE Board of Directors, at its November 2010 meeting, elevated you to IEEE Fellow, effective 1 January 2011, with the following citation: for development of parallel programming techniques"
