Adrian,
  Without knowing what your .txt file actually contains, I'm not
sure what to suggest. Probably the easiest format to convert to would
be the XYZ file format described here:
  http://www.ks.uiuc.edu/Research/vmd/plugins/molfile/xyzplugin.html
