Hi Mads, Karsten, Magnus, Andy, VMD-L,
I've got a test build of VMD 1.8.1 (alpha 4) that you can test if you'd
like to try it out. I've got a new VMDPREFERSTEREO environment variable
you can set which will force VMD to skip the multisample antialiasing
X11 visuals as it attempts to get the best graphics. This should address
the problem that the NVidia Quadro users like yourselves have been having.
I would have provided you guys with a binary sooner, but we've had some
problems with Tcl/Tk 8.4.1 integration last month that held me up several
weeks.

Anyone that wants to try the new stereo variable, just send a note to
vmd_at_ks.uiuc.edu and I'll email you with the download location for the
test version.

Thanks,
  John Stone
