Hi,
  I've never built VMD with the Linux versions of CAVElib, but you can
try it and see if it works or not. I don't have a Linux CAVElib to
test with. You mentioned that you couldn't get VRPN and FreeVR to work,
can you be more specific as to what problem you had?
