Hi,
As of yet, we haven't started building the Win32 versions of VMD with
Python due to complications in the installation process that I still have
to work out, but with some work I may be able to get this done for VMD 1.8.3,
depending on how the timing works out. The Python bindings for VMD weren't
really mature until about mid-2003, so it is a bigger issue now than it was
back in 2002. I don't have Python built-into several of the other Unix
builds yet either. So, I do have a number of platforms to add the Python
interpreter to in addition to Windows. I'm not trying to punish the Windows
users, I've just been swamped working on other features and just haven't
gotten to it yet. I'll give it a shot for VMD 1.8.3. Some of the problems
we had with back in 2002 should be a non-issue now, so it ought to be much
easier to solve this now than it was before.
