Dear All,

Thanks to all who responded.
I followed the instructions given - no change.

Finally looked on my PowerBool where VMD 1.8,1 was installed and that worked.
I looked if there was a .cshrc and there was - No such file.

Eliminated the .cshrc on my iMac that cured the problem.

VMD works again.

I do not know how the .cshrc had appeared on my iMac but it might
have to do with my earlier playing with fink installations or
something as .cshrc contained:
source /sw/bin/init.csh (or something? I think /sw is associated with fink)

Cheers and thanks again
Peter
