please note that this just _loads_ the history, it
does _not_ replay it. this is done for convenience,
i.e. like in most modern unix shell programs (which
tk_console was written to emulate) you can go back
and review what you did before and, if needed, re-run
it without having to retype everything. so it is made
for convenience and should not have any side effects.

can you please explain in which way the history interacts
badly with the solvent box calculation. it should not.
