Hi,
did you install the essential-build package of kubuntu ? It says no
command is found, because kubuntu and ubuntu come without "make" and
other necessary build commands.
Additional note: you should check the c shell too. Ubuntu comes with
only bourne again shell (bash), I don't know about kubuntu, you may
also need to install c shell. when you want to run vmd, it requires
csh or tcsh.
