Seth,
  The easy way to see what GUI parameters map to what command line
parameters is to use the "logfile" command like this:
  logfile console

>From there, change your rep styles etc and VMD will emit the equivalent
text command that will replicate it. When you're finished, you can
then do:
  logfile off

The parameters accepted by the rep commands change over time (normally in the
form of additional numeric parameters). Let me know if you have more
questions.
