I have a problem with installation of vmd 1.8.3 under SUSE Linux 9.2.
When I configure it and make install, I see no error messages. But when
I'm tryin' to run vmd, it gives me no error messages but:

Can't open display:

And then it automatically closes the console window. When I install the
VMD 1.8., everithing is great, and all windows open. (but I can't see
plugins in extensions menu :((()
What may be the reason for this problem?
