You mentioned a problem with the Linux version of VMD:

  We've had a few other people report this problem. It seems
to be releated to the version of libc/libg++ you have. From
one other person:

> downgrading libg++ to 2.7.1.4 (the one in RedHat 4.1) did - now VMD
> works

He went on to say that libg++ 2.7.2.1 does not work. We haven't
tracked it down more than that. If you send me the results of 'where'
from gdb:
   gdb /usr/local/lib/vmd/vmd_LINUX core
   (gdb) where
I might be able to pinpoint the problem a bit better.
