1. Running vmd as an ordinary user, get the following:

edivaldo_at_osvaldo-2:~/Downloads/vmd-1.9.4a57/src$ vmd
Unknown variable modifier.

2. Runnin vmd as superuser, I get:

edivaldo_at_osvaldo-2:~/Downloads/vmd-1.9.4a57/src$ sudo vmd
