Hi,
The new Pascal GPUs (GTX 1080 etc) require a bleeding edge version of
OptiX that wasn't yet released when I posted VMD 1.9.3 beta 1. OptiX 4.0
was just released on July 26th, and the next VMD 1.9.3 beta version will
(assuming no unexpected surprises) be compiled against OptiX 4.0 which will
support the new Pascal GPUs:
  https://devtalk.nvidia.com/default/topic/952430/optix/optix-4-0-is-released-/
  https://developer.nvidia.com/optix

The OptiX 4.0 release is one of several things I had been waiting for in order
to finalize the VMD 1.9.3 release.

I'll email VMD-L when I post the next beta built against OptiX 4.0.

Cheers,
  John Stone
