Thanks for the clarification. Let me try to trouble shoot it then.
I'm running the latest NVIDIA driver which I installed with -
NVIDIA-Linux-x86-340.24.run
I followed the instructions ion the VMD mailing list exactly. Still I was
finding the same trouble.
