  Check that your LD_LIBRARY64_PATH is set correctly...
Here's what mine looks like on our IRIX 6.5 box:
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/lib:/usr/local/lib:/usr/lib32/cmplrs
LD_LIBRARYN32_PATH=/usr/local/lib:/usr/lib32
LD_LIBRARY64_PATH=/usr/lib/abi
