Hi,
  At present the QuickSurf output can't be disabled. I left it turned
on for the VMD release because the code is still very "young" and by
having it on, I get much more useful feedback from users when they encounter
problems. As I expected, a couple of users have found ways to break my
code, so it has already been very helpful. I expect to shut off the
QuickSurf diagnostic output in the next VMD release, once things are
further along and all of the new QuickSurf features are fully implemented.
If it's a serious issue for you, I could make you a VMD 1.9.2 test
version that has the output disabled in a couple of weeks.
