Hmm - strange...

I assume you have the following line in your XF86Config file:

Option "Stereo" "3"

Does the stereo look correct on the screen, ie. two slightly displaced
images on top of each other? If this is the case, it seems like a hardware
problem. If you get two squeezed images above each other in the VMD window,
I think it is a software/driver problem.

But if your glasses works with the same hardware under windows, I guess the
hardware should be ok?

Have you tried other stereo applications under Linux, eg. PyMOL?

Thanks for answering. Setting the environement variable didn't change the
behaviour of VMD. What you say about input voltage is interesting, since the

emitter was used on a SGI before. But it did work on the PC when it was
under
Windows ! I don't understand that, but I'll try with a set designed for PCs.
