this is not a mac specific problem, but rather of the NAMDGui plugin.
it is using a fixed size frame which seems to have grown to be fairly
large over time. it is pretty straightforward to change this, and i'll
look into it ASAP, as it should be changed for the next release. i'll
send you an updated version of the tcl code for testing soon.
