Hi!
I'm new at the molecular modelling world... and I guess I'm lost. I'm trying to install VMD-1.8.6 in my laptop. I'm running Mandriva 2009 in a ACER Aspire 4530 AMD Athlon 64X2 dual-core, NVIDIA GeForce 9100M.
I did the installation as explained in the installation guide and everything seemed fine. In the end of the process, the sentence "VMD installation complete. Enjoy!" shows up. But when I type "vmd" to begin, nothing happens and the only thing that appears in the Xterm console is:
[fernanda_at_localhost ~]$ vmd
[1] 19658
[fernanda_at_localhost ~]$
The number after the [1] changes everytime I type vmd.
I think I've added the directory to my path, using the command:
PATH=$PAHT:$HOME/bin:/usr/local/bin/vmd
Does anyone has any idea of what I'm doing (or have done) wrong? Please, keep in mind that I'm really new in this area.
Thanks
Fernanda
