thanks, now I know that the file plot.r3d is the input for raster3d.
I do have raster3d installed in my computer and in my path but I do not
get an output file automatically. However I then try

render <plot.r3d >plot.tif

but when I use xv to try to open the tif file it tells me that the file
is empty. I also tried imconv to try to convert it to postcript just to
be able to look at it but it did not work either. thanks again, Marcela
