Dear Osmany,
  Because of a limitation of NVIDIAs video drivers, they can
provide stereo or multisample antialiasing, but not both at the same
time. Since the vast majority of users now have LCD panels that are
incapable of stereo, when forced to make a choice between stereo and
antialiasing, VMD defaults to choosing antialiasing. To make VMD acquire
a stereo capable display mode instead, you'll need to set the
environment variable VMDPREFERSTEREO, as described in the User's Guide.
For /bin/csh you would do this with the command:
  setenv VMDPREFERSTEREO 1

For bash, you'd use:
  VMDPREFERSTEREO=1
  export VMDPREFERSTEREO

Once you've done this, you should startup VMD, and in the OpenGL renderer
features list, you should see "stereo" listed. From there, you can use
the Display->Stereo->CrystalEyes option to enable quad buffered
frame sequential stereo display.

Let us know if you have more questions.
