  It depends on the console/platform combination and whether your
terminal has the right backspace key settings or not. On many
unix systems, an easy way of zapping everything you've typed is to
press ctrl-u. Whether that works (and the other keys for that
matter) has a lot to do with your stty settings. In MS Windows
you can use the backspace key pretty reliably. If you've managed to
type in multiple lines, it gets trickier as Tcl won't like stopping
at that point, and so you sometimes end up having to type various
] or } characters to get it to let you off the hook. TkCon is the
friendlier console in most cases since it doesn't care about whether
or not you've got your stty/xterm terminal settings correctly set.
