Hi,
  Try using the built-in movie maker extension. I assume you're
running VMD 1.8.3? If so, it's in Extensions->Visualization->Movie Maker
You'll also need some other packages installed in order to use it successfully:
  http://www.ks.uiuc.edu/Research/vmd/plugins/vmdmovie/
