Hi,

upon opening VMD 1.8.3 under Linux Suse 9.2 on my Laptop ATI
Radeon 9700, the console window briefly opens and closes
immediately. The OpenGL window does not appear, while VMD
1.8.2 works fine. Unfortunately this seems to the be the case with
any ATI fglrx driver, also with the newest version -8.12.10. The
problem has been documented before, and a workaround is the use
of
setenv VMDSIMPLEGRAPHICS; however, I wonder if one could use
a more specific exclusion with VMD_EXCL_GL_EXTENSIONS ?
What would be the syntax?
